Angie and Friends
My journey with breast cancer started in September of 2014. I found a lump I immediately contacted my GYN. She scheduled a mammogram. From there they did a biopsy, which confirmed my worst nightmare.i had breast cancer! I couldn't believe it, things like this happen to other people , not me. But it was happening to me. My doctors were amazing to say the least. They moved very quickly I had a lumpectomy which came back that it was cancer, but it was a small mass Stage 1, and it was not in my lyphnods. I started chemo the day before Thanksgiving 2014 and ended the last weekend in March 2015. My family and friends rallied around me. I had so many questions and emotions running through my mind. I kept a journal throughout my whole experience, somewhere to write down feelings I didn't want to express to others. I had a lot of help from friends, but most of all my husband carried the load when I could not. Chemo made me so tired and drained and unable to do much. After chemo was finished I decided to have a double mastectomy, which I had decided that from day one. After many surgeries and lots of pain, I am here today to say I SURVIVED.And I'm here to tell anyone who is dealing with this horrific disease, don't stop fighting. Even when you think you can't go on pray for God's strength to carry you and survive. Prayers are amazing and you will and can feel them. Now I'm living my life. Again, but a new life. I'm dealing withe the after effects of chemo, but, I'm alive and dealing. I'm a wife to a wonderful husband, the mother to 5 amazing and beautiful daughters, and Nana to.the sweetest grandson ever.
