Hello Family & Friends,
On October 22, 2016 we are lacing up our sneakers and participating in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure to honor my Mother and to raise money for the fight against breast cancer. As many of you may know, my Mother “Martha Ann” was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year. In celebration of her “beating cancer” we are hitting the pavement and I would love for you to join our team and participate in this amazing event! You will have a FABULOUS time, get a little exercise and support a great cause!
The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is a community event that honors and memorializes breast cancer survivors, co-survivors and those we have lost. In addition, the Susan G. Komen foundation raises funds for research, education, prevention, advocacy and treatment. My fundraising goal is $700, in tribute of my mother’s upcoming 70th birthday.
You can help me reach that goal with your financial support. You can contribute two ways: (1) an online donation or (2) becoming a team member. Online donations are simple, and the site is secure. And becoming a team member is easy! Simply click the corresponding tab on the right of the website to make a donation or join our team!
Team Survivor MD will have a team t-shirt for race day. If you would like to order a team t-shirt, I will need your t-shirt size by Monday, October 3rd .
Please feel free to contact Angela Flowers-Turner at firstname.lastname@example.org for more race information. Thank you so much and I hope to see you on October 22nd!
* During this race we will also be honoring in memoriam, our beloved cousin, Loretta Raspberry-Reece, who lost her battle to breast cancer in 2014.
